Overview

Advocate Driver Managers are the lifeline of our most valuable assets, our professional drivers. They are responsible for assisting in a variety of driver needs but also directly managing and directing the work of professional drivers. Advocate Driver Managers are required to take actions or make recommendations that are given significant weight with respect to discipline, terminations, and other changes of a driver’s employment status, often requiring the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to significant business matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage all driver interactions, coaching and documenting any issues
• Communicating availability and ETA’s to planning and customer service
• Accurately updated TMW, Service trace, and Power BI with correct information
• Confirm driver routing for expirations, maintenance, trade trucks, and hometime
• Manage turnover with a balanced approach to solving a driver’s problem and doing what’s right for both the driver and company
• Maintain mileage goals for drivers and trucks
• Be available for efficient communication with drivers, and in-house personnel
• Track breakdowns and PM services for tractors assigned to their fleet
• Communicate and facilitate DOT required random drug tests
• Create a culture a of safety by keeping a safety-first attitude
• Accurately audit payroll and accessorial for drivers.
• Ensure a high level of utilization for tractors and drivers.
• Maintain accurate, swift information in all programs
• Employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of Covenant Transport Services.
• Maintain data integrity throughout all programs with a focus on pay and order entry.
• Complete all workflow in an accurate and timely manner to ensure service issues are caught and not overlooked.
• Confirm correct trailer locations to keep our equipment counts accurate and easily found.
• Keep our trucks sat correctly to ensure KPI’s and truck count metrics are correct.

Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Education and Experience
• High School diploma is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 0 years of relevant experience is required.
• 1-5 years of relevant experience is preferred.

 

Competitive Compensation

 

Covenant’s compensation philosophy’s intent is to use a competitive total compensation strategy to determine the current market value of a position while also considering individual factors such as performance in current position, time in seat of current position, experience, level of responsibility/accountability, and longevity with the company. The system will be objective and non-discriminatory.
Pay Range: $45,007.59-$69,574.81
Pay Grade: 7
