Overview

The Director, Quality Assurance and Customer Satisfaction provides leadership and direction to the Warehouse Operations related to implementing quality policies, strategic plans, systems, and procedures that will ensure the company’s quality program success.  This position will ensure executed continuous improvement projects are sustained and established standards adhered to. The Director, Quality Assurance and Customer Satisfaction provides strategic and tactical support to the organization by optimizing processes that directly impact quality while collaborating with cross-functional teams, government agencies, and suppliers to maintain compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

·       Maintain the continuous improvement audit program, including 30/60/90-day review for all key operational processes.

·       Lead the implementation and documentation of procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.  Drive accountability to the adherence of these procedures.

·       Conducts annual reassessments of the food safety & quality manual, as well as a review of all supporting information including validation of all work instructions and processes.

·       Establish and implement metrics (process capability, control charts, measurement quality) for monitoring system effectiveness and to enable managers to make product quality decisions.

·       Maintains and assists in all updates to the current processes and work instructions while overseeing the accuracy of the documents produced from the program. 

·       Development, execution and implement of food safety and quality programs in accordance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.

·       Maintain existing food safety management systems, including HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and oversee various elements of our QMS (Quality Management System).

·       Ensure that QMS processes are established, implemented, and maintained. This may involve review and planning of internal audits and discussion with process owners. Foster continuous process improvements of these critical quality systems with all impacted stakeholders.

·       Assist with the facilitation of the continuous improvement audit program that aims to develop efficient, effective, and sustainable processes that meet the requirements of high-level business objectives as well as the corporate strategic plan.

·       Assist with the delivery of quantifiable savings from identified quality control efficiencies.

·       Support engineering and operation efforts by pro-actively leading quality improvement projects targeting the most critical transformations in the manufacturing of our products.

·       Drive actions to address gaps and mitigate risks, sharing the learnings and best practices across the business.

·       Maintain a strong portfolio of operational audits, complete with 30/60/90-day reviews, metrics for program success and tracking, key list of improvements for non-conformances, and hold regular working review sessions with key business leaders, as deemed necessary.

·       Create, gain approval, execute, and close change control records for site specific or global changes.

·       Maintain organized documentation of all projects related activities including project initiation documents, change control records, technical files, procedures, meeting minutes, project reports, etc.

·       Routinely identify opportunities for process and / or performance improvements of current quality systems

Qualifications

·       Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

·       Demonstrated methodical problem-solving skills in a fast-paced continuous improvement culture.

·       Detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

·       Must have a comprehensive understanding of key components in a Quality Management System (QMS)

·       Must have a proven working knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies and process improvement approaches.

·       Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative, attention to detail, and follow through, or perform effectively as part of a team.

·       Must have the ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, successfully multi-task while maintaining organization and respond positively to constructive criticism.

·       Strong desire to exceed expectations through difficult challenges, coupled with the ability to remain positive and solution focused.

·       Strong understanding of quality control methodologies and risk assessment techniques.

·       Strong and diverse change management skills

·       Strong project management skills and ability to execute projects successfully with verified results.

Must have proficiency in using computer software and systems relevant to quality management.

 

·       Bachelor's degree Science, Business, or a related field required. Advanced degree is a plus.

·       10+ years of proven experience in a quality assurance or similar role.

·       Experience as a Quality Manager in a Manufacturing Environment preferred.

·       Experience in developing and implementing food safety management systems and quality assurance programs required.

Professional certifications in food safety and quality (e.g., Certified Food Safety Manager, HACCP Certified) required.

 

Competitive Compensation

 

Covenant’s compensation philosophy’s intent is to use a competitive total compensation strategy to determine the current market value of a position while also considering individual factors such as performance in current position, time in seat of current position, experience, level of responsibility/accountability, and longevity with the company. The system will be objective and non-discriminatory.
Pay Range: $104,883.37-$174,999.85
Pay Grade: 14
